Harold Edward Seaman
Harold Edward Seaman, 75, of Turrentine Church Road, Mocksville, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Born in Lenox, N.Y. on Aug. 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Minnie Seaman. He was a retired farmer and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors: his wife, Mary Elizabeth Roberts Seaman; 6 sons, Harold Edward Seaman Jr., of Wisconsin, Rick Seaman of Michigan, Steve (Ruth) Seaman of North Carolina, Joe (Carol) Seaman, J.J. (Tammy) Seaman and Mike Seaman, all of New York; a daughter, Elizabeth (Brian) Gallivan of Washington; a stepdaughter, Floranda Tallmon of Mocksville; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service for Mr. Seaman will be held at a later date at the Clark-Tate Family cemetery in Pineola.
Georgia Forrest Boger
Mrs. Georgia Forrest Boger, 99, of Thomasville, formerly of Mocksville, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Glenna Curry.
She was born July 16, 1908, in Davie County to the late Lewis Bailey and Beulah Walker Forrest. Mrs. Boger was a member of Jericho Church of Christ in Mocksville. She was a homemaker, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Boger; an infant daughter, Sarah Boger; a son, Rayford Bristol Boger; a granddaughter, Dannett Boger Gaddy; a grandson, William Curry; 2 daughter-in-laws; 2 son-in-laws; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Survivors: 3 daughters, Glenna Curry of Thomasville, Beulah Foster of Mocksville and Rachel (Bobby) Cartner of Woodleaf; a son, Robert C. Boger of Mocksville; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Novella Safley and Jean Seamon, both of Mocksville and Juanita Pratner of High Point.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Eaton Funeral Chapel in Mocksville with Tom Torpy and Roger Powell officiating. Burial followed in Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mocksville.

LaFredia W. Chambers
LaFredia Voncelle Chambers, 50, died on Sept. 29, 2007.
She was born Jan. 26, 1957 in Mocksville, the oldest child of Charlie and Mary Williams. She grew up in Mocksville and graduated from Davie High School. She graduated at the top of her class at Catawba College in Salisbury, with a major in psychology. She began her career with Southern Bell in 1979 in Charlotte. In 1989 she moved to Atlanta, Ga. and continued her climb to a senior level position with Bell South. She was recognized with numerous awards including The Pinnacle Award and the Turkenett Leadership Group Award. She designed and developed a program named STEP-Stimulating Talent, Excellence and Potential, a program to cultivate the professional and personal growth of entry level managers.
Survivors include: her husband, Steven Chambers; children, Amie Addae (Al) of Conyers, Ga., Taneia Davenport of Tampa, Fla., and Joshua Chambers of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 8 grandsons; her mother, Mary Foster Williams of Mocksville; her siblings, Craig Williams (Cheryl) of Winston-Salem, Sgt. Major Deitra P.C. Floyd (Quinton) of Huntsville, Ala., Bishop Tony D. Williams of Winston-Salem, Timothy Ford Williams of Mocksville, and Rudolph Click of Winston-Salem; 6 sisters-in-law; 7 brothers-in-law; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her funeral was conducted on Saturday, Oct. 6 at noon. Burial was at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden in Charlotte.
Algeon Bernard Gaither
A memorial service will be held on Oct. 27 at noon for Algeon (Bernard) Gaither at St. John AME Zion Church, Mocksville.
Mr. Gaither was a long-time resident of Woodbridge, Va., before he died on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Thomas A. Gaither.
Survivors: his mother, Alice C. Gaither of Mocksville; his wife, E. Marie Dobson Gaither, his son, Algeon Christopher (Shante), and his daughter, Alyson Gaither; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Gordon Gaither (Shelvy) and Julian Gaither (Krishauna), all of Winston-Salem, Victor Gaither (Clarissa) of Hampton, Va., Reginald J. Gaither (Inita), Michael Gaither (Laura), sisters, Carol Gaither, Thomasine Gaither, Deborah Ellis and Doris Jimerson, all of Mocksville.
Friends and family are invited to help honor and remember Mr. Gaither and his years in Davie County on Oct. 27. Visitation is at the home of his mother at 149 Hillcrest Drive. His funeral was held Friday, Oct. 19 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Triangle, Va. Burial was in Puantico National Cemetery.

Steve Leslie
Steve Leslie, 65, of Mocksville, died Oct. 11, 2007.
Mr. Leslie was a 1960 graduate of Kokomo High School, and retired from PPG Industries in 2000 after 40 years of employment. Most recently, he was employed part-time by Cornerstone Appraisal in Yadkinville.
He was married to Judy Snyder in 1961, and she preceded him in death after 39 years of marriage.
Survivors: his wife, Pat of Mocksville; a daughter, Kristi McDougall and husband Mike of Advance; a son, Brad Leslie and wife Suzanne of Fountain Valley, Calif.; step-daughters, Lisa Taylor and husband Mark of Palinstine, Texas, and Julie Wyatt of Houston, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren.

Fannie Wilson White
Fannie Eliza Wilson White, 85, died Oct. 13, 2007 she in Davie County Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 21, 1922 in Iredell County. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dora Turner Wilson. She attended Iredell County public schools and joined Piney Grove AME Zion Church at an early age. For many years she lived in Baltimore, Md., where she was employed at a drycleaners, and she also did domestic work. "Eliza bread," as her family affectionately called her, was gifted with her hands, and made many craft items. She did housekeeping for Sen. Hugh Mitchell and Dr. Nicholson, both of Statesville. In her spare time she loved to fish.
Survivors: 3 sisters, Mary S. Wilson, Ceola Wilson, and Octavia Clement all of Mocksville; 2 brothers-in-law, John Lindsay White and Ray Edward White; a great niece; great-great nieces; a great-great nephew; a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. at Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. The Rev. David Hoover officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
