Edith Potts Reid
Mrs. Edith Joyce Potts Reid, 72, of Forsyth County, died Nov. 28, 2006 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born in Davie County to the late Martin Frank Potts and Ada Josephine Tayes Potts. Mrs. Reid retired from Western Electric after 36 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dean Reid, and a brother, Thomas Wilbert Potts.
Survivors: her husband, Frank Reid; a son, Steven Reid and wife Elaine; numerous cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Martha Jane Reid-Smith officiating.
Memorials: Center United Methodist Church or Center Methodist Cemetery Fund, 1857 US 64 W., Mocksville.
Marion Frank Harris
Mr. Marion Frank Harris, 92, formerly of Green Grass Road, Mocksville, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Mr. Harris was born Aug. 3, 1914 in Berkeley County, S.C. to the late Frank James and Mary Loretta Baylor Harris. He was retired from the VA Medical Center in Salisbury and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Lee Smith Harris on Nov. 27, 2004.
Survivors: 3 daughters, Judy (Ronnie) Sides and Phyllis Bowers, both of Salisbury; and Mavis (Kenneth) Baity of Mocksville; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Rowan Memorial Park with Dr. Rick Cockerham officiating. Military rites were conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.

Zola Foster Williams
Mrs. Zola Leona Foster Williams, 85, formerly of Farmington Road, Farmington, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Autumn Care of Mocksville.
Mrs. Williams was born July 4, 1921, in Forsyth County to the late Albert and Maude Lucinda Pugh Foster. She was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Norman; and 2 brothers, Grady Foster and Calvin Foster.
Survivors: her husband of 64 years, Joseph Milton Williams of Davie Place; a daughter, Linda (Gary) Groce of Advance; 2 sons, Ronald (Nancy) Williams of Farmington and Norris Williams of Ormond Beach, Fla.; 4 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Eaton Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Robertson officiating. Burial was in Farmington Community Cemetery.

Joshua Chad McCann
On Nov. 29, 2006, Joshua Chad McCann, 17, died.
Chad was born in Elkin on Feb. 3, 1989, and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was completing high school studies through Davidson Community College and was recently a student at Woodland Baptist Christian School in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He assisted his mother with her caregiving responsibilities, and will be missed by his friend, Jeffrey Adamonis. Chad enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, and sports, and was employed with Lowes Food of Yadkinville. He was a true friend to all he knew, had a quick wit, and an infectious smile. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
Survivors: his parents, Tracy and Jan McCann; his brother, Jamie McCann and wife, Melissa; paternal grandmother, Mary McCann; maternal grandparents, Dorsette and Elizabeth Whitaker; several uncles, aunts; his nephew, James, cousins, and friends also survive.
His funeral service was conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Marvin Blackburn and Kevin Hobson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mary Lou Foster
Mrs. Mary Lou Campbell Foster, 66, of John Crotts Road, Mocksville, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Foster was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Iredell County to Hattie Mae Goodwin Campbell, formerly of Cooleemee, and the late William Preston Campbell. She was retired from Crown-Wood Products and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Foster enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors: her husband of 48 years, William Lee Bow Foster of the home; a daughter, Lynn (Alan) Frye of Mocksville; 2 sons, Randy A. (Mary Jane) Foster of Brown Summit and Jeffrey M. Foster of Front Royal, Va.; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Brenda (Tommy) Blackwelder of Mocksville; and 4 brothers, Harold (Sharrie) Campbell of Mocksville, Mike (Ellen) Campbell of Henderson, Lonnie (Mary Ann) Campbell and Jerry Campbell, all of Cooleemee.
A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tony Owens and Jack Luther officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

William Lee Graves
Mr. William Lee Graves Sr., 77, of Pine Street, Mocksville, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Graves was born July 2, 1929, in Davie County to the late Jesse Lee and Cornelia Long Graves. He was retired from Prudential Life Insurance and had worked for Pilot Life Insurance. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mocksville Lions Club and the Mocksville-Davie Jaycees. Mr. Graves worked with Meals on Wheels and was involved on several church disaster relief teams.
Survivors: his wife, Margaret Beaver Graves of the home; a daughter, Patricia (Sam) Hendrix of Winston Salem; 2 sons, William Lee Graves Jr. of Mocksville and Robert (Donna) Graves of Asheboro; a sister, Betty McLain of Salisbury; and 7 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Don Routh and Darren Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery. The family was to receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Eaton Funeral Home.

Earl Ray Yokley
Earl Ray Yokley, 54, of Deck Circle, Mocksville, died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Autumn Care of Mocksville.
Born in Forsyth County on May 20, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert W. Yokley and Helen Sparks Yokley, who survives. He was of the Methodist faith and was employed at Glosson Trucking.
Also surviving: 2 daughters, Amanda Yokley and Ashley Yokley of Holly Hills, Fla.; 2 brothers, Dale (Lynn) Yokley of Mocksville and Dennis (Debbie) Yokley of Cleveland, NC; and 2 sisters, Pam Carter and Connie Yokley, both of Mocksville.
A graveside service for Mr. Yokley was conducted Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Owens and Pastor Benny Hillard officiating.
