Obits: Week of Nov. 30, 2006

- Belinda Gaye Potts
Belinda Gaye Potts, 56, of Advance, died Nov. 21, 2006 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
She was born July 4, 1950 to the late Harvey M. and Lucille Bailey Potts. She was a graduate of Wingate college and High Point University and was retired from US Airways.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Potts.
Survivors: Rodney Hutchins of Winston-Salem, her friend of 35 years; 3 brothers, Billy G. Potts (Ailene), Luther B. Potts (Hilda) and Douglas Potts (Shirley), all of Mocksville; 2 sisters, Dorothy Carter (Jack) of Advance, and Peggy Sparks (Bob) of Mocksville; a sister-in-law, Vickie Potts; several nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Kathleen W. Bailey; and many special friends and co-workers.
A private graveside service was held.

Louise L. Dickinson
Louise Livengood Dickinson, 84, died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Davie Place in Mocksville.
She was born in Cooleemee, the daughter of the late Gowan Livengood and Annie Ijames. She graduated from Cooleemee High School and Mitchell College. She worked for more than 20 years at Tanglewood Park prior to retirement. Louise and her husband, Edgar, enjoyed their retirement years dealing in antiques. This provided opportunities for travel and friendships. In her free time she loved to garden and study birds. She lived most of her life in Mocksville and was active in the Woman’s Club and First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: a daughter, Anne Lennie of Lancaster, Pa.; 3 grandsons; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her son, James M. Dickinson, and her husband of 65 years, Edgar Dickinson.
A memorial service will be held at11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 8 at First Presbyterian Church in Mocksville.

Bonnye McMahan
Bonnye McMahan, 78, of Spur, Texas, formerly of Mocksville, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 in Lubbock.
Services were at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 22 at Community Bible Chapel in Spur with the Rev. Ned Hicks officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. McMahan was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Santa Monica, Calif. to Dewey and Fairy Robinson Ijames. She married Billy Joe McMahan Jan. 26, 1951 in Spur. He preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1989. She was a retired music teacher, and pianist. She and her husband moved to Spur in 1986 from North Carolina. Bonnye was a charter member of Community Bible Chapel where she served at treasurer and was on the board of trustees. She was also on the board of trustees for the Independant Christian Churches and was one of the original instructors for the Bible correspondence courses for prisons. When her health would no longer allow her to attend, she continued to serve the church from her home.
Survivors: 3 uncles; a cousin.

Wanda Renee Negrete
Wanda Renee Revis Negrete, 35, of Lexington, died on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at her home after a period of declining health. 
Born in Gwinnette County, Ga., on Sept. 8, 1971, she was the daughter of Arnold James Revis and Nevada Ann Allen Stewart.  She was of the Baptist faith and prior to her illness was employed in the furniture industry.
Survivors: her father, Arnold J. (Kwan) Revis of Georgia, and her mother, Nevada Ann Stewart and her fiancé, Don Collins of Lexington; a daughter, Brittany Nichole Stewart of Lexington; 4 brothers, Allen Craver of Linwood, Michael Craver of Lexington, Gary Revis and Andy Revis, both of Georgia; 2 sisters, Tina Craver of Denton and Sandy Revis of Georgia; a grandmother, Helen Revis of Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, some in Davie County. 
She was preceded in death by grandparents William S. and Armedia Allen and a grandfather Frank Revis.
The service to celebrate her life was held Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville with Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Burial was in the Higher Heights Church cemetery in Lexington. 
Memorials: to Nevada Ann Stewart to assist with funeral expenses.

William H. Dwiggins
Mr. William Harrison Dwiggins, 85, of Asheboro, died late Thursday night, Nov. 23, 2006 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro after a short illness.
Mr. Dwiggins was born March 3, 1921 in Davie County to the late Marshall Lee and Meekie Jane Blackwelder Dwiggins and was retired in l982 from GE Corporation with 24 years of service. During World War II he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the West Bend United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities including Sunday School teacher. He was a former Boys Scout Leader at the Smith Grove School in Davie County. Mr. Dwiggins was a graduate of the Mocksville High School, Class of l939. He was a faithful supporter and benefactor to the Boys and Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Everette and Lester Dwiggins.
Survivors:his wife of 65 years, Bernice Hanes Dwiggins; a daughter, Doris D. (Roger) Chicoine of Manassas, Va.; a son, William A." Tony" (Sue) Dwiggins of Duluth, Ga.; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty D. Anderson of Mocksville.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 in Eaton Funeral Chapel in Mocksville with Rev. David Cox and Marc Dwiggins officiating. Burial was in the Smith Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
