Weddings: Week of Oct. 4, 2007

- Reavis-Jennings Couple Married On Oak Island

Brooke Angela Reavis and Kevin Dale Jennings exchanged vows on Sept. 29, 2007, at 6 p.m. on the beach at Oak Island. The Rev. Barry Shew officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Lou Ann of Boonville. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is employed by Davie County Schools as a kindergarten teacher at Cornatzer Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Roger and Linda Jennings of Hays. He is a graduate of Surry Community College and is employed by Ingersoll Rand Company in Mocksville, as an electrician.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a satin strapless gown featuring a beaded lace bodice and pick up skirt. The bride carried a bouquet of brightly colored tiger lilies.
The maid of honor was Rebecca Reavis, sister of the bride. Best man was Brandon West, brother-in-law of the groom.
Wedding music was provided by Key Productions.
A reception was held after the ceremony.
Following a trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will live in Mocksville.

Rogers-Seaton Couple Married

Whitney Lynn Rogers and Dustin Lance Seaton married on Saturday, July 14, at the Chapel Dulcinea, overlooking the Texas Hill Country near Austin, Texas. Dr. Pat Love, a long-time friend of the family, officiated.
Music for the ceremony was played by guitarist, Mark Cruz, and Les Filicsky of Bridgeport, W.Va. provided a poetry reading.
The newly wed Mr. and Mrs. Seaton were received at Thurman’s Mansion in Driftwood, Texas, where guests enjoyed Texas barbecue served by Salt Lick BBQ. Guests were also treated to traditional mariachi music played by El Trio Los Castros.
The couple had family and friends to travel from Texas, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Tokyo, Japan to be with them on their wedding day. Out-of-town guests spent the day before the wedding enjoying a brunch at the historic Driskill Hotel, followed by a tour of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
The bride is the daughter of Fred and Carol Rogers of Mocksville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goodman of Mt. Hope, W.Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rogers of Elkins, W.Va.
The groom is the son of Gary and Opal Randall of Rockdale, Texas, and Lloyd Seaton of Cameron, Texas. He is the grandson off Gertie Svetlik of Pettibone, Texas; and of the late Estelle Seaton of Cameron and the late Mr. and Mrs. Whit Randall of Nacogodches, Texas.
The birde is a graduate of Davie High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Greensboro College and her master’s degree from Salem College. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She is a kindergarten teacher in Pflugerville, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of Rockdale High School in Rockdale, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He works in Austin as an account supervisor for a national property management company.
The couple resides at their home in Austin, Texas with their dog, Kenzie. They will travel to Tokyo, Japan in the spring.
