Hospital Forums Upcoming
-
Forums to gather input from the community about Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center’s plans to build a hospital in eastern Davie will be held in the next few days.
Organizers are inviting residents of Davie County, southern Yadkin Couny and the Clemmons-Lewisville area of Forsyth County. Refreshments will be served.
The 7 p.m. forums will be held:
• Thursday, Oct. 11, at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 2570 Harper Road, Clemmons;
• Monday, Oct. 15 at Hillsdale Baptist Church, 4815 US 158, Advance; and
• Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Davie County Senior Center, 278 Meroney St., Mocksville.
“Our goal is to engage the community in a conversation so that the new hospital will reflect the needs of the community,” said Donny Lambeth, interim president of N.C. Baptist Hospital. “We are very interested in knowing the services and amenities that residents of the community believe are needed in the new hospital, so we invite everyone interested to attend.”
The forums will include an overview of the proposed hospital at I-40 and NC 801, and the primary care center that WFUBMC will build in Mocksville. After the overview, the audience will break into small groups to discuss specific parts of the plans.
Representatives of HKS, architects for the hospital, will participate in the small group discussions along with the medical center’s planning and construction specialists.
Wilkerson Associates, the architect for the primary care center, will be involved in discussions about plans for that building, which will inlcude urgent care, occupational health and physician offices ... subscribe to the Davie County Enterprise Record, P.O. Box 99, Mocksville, N.C. 27028.
