HOMICIDE CHARGES NOT FILED
Victim’s Spouse Only ‘Person Of Interest’

-
The investigation continues in the death of a Davie woman, and according to the lead investigator there are no new developments to report.
Jennifer Jean Wittwer Turner was found dead on Sept. 12. The 54-year-old’s throat was cut.
Her body was discovered in an outbuilding located on the 35-acre estate she owned with her estranged husband, Dr. Kirk Alan Turner, 50, a dentist who practices in Clemmons.
Dr. Turner was at the couple’s home on Jack Booe Road that evening, but exact reasons for his visit have not been given by investigators.
Authorities responded to the address near 10 p.m. on that evening after a 911 call was received reporting a domestic disturbance.
That 911 tape was sealed by the district attorney two days after Ms. Turner’s death.
Three weeks later, no charges have been filed.
Dr. Turner still remains the only person of interest, according to Davie Sheriff’s Department Capt. J.D. Hartman, who is heading the investigation.
When asked if Ms. Turner’s death was still being investigated as a homicide, Hartman replied, “We investigate all suspicious deaths as homicides until we know different.”
There are no official autopsy reports on Ms. Turner, according to Hartman.
A representative at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill said that the autopsy results were part of a pending case and were not being released.
Evidence taken from the crime scene has been sent to the SBI lab in Raleigh for analysis.
According to Hartman those results have still not been received ... subscribe to the Davie County Enterprise Record, P.O. Box 99, Mocksville, N.C. 27028.
