CONSERVE WATER
Mocksville Joins Davie In Asking For Assistance
-
The Town of Mocksville is asking water customers to be more aware of the amount of water being used and to conserve water in all possible ways.
In a recent statement issued by Gov. Michael F. Easley, voluntary reduction of water usage is extremely important at this time of severe drought. Elimination of nonessential water use such as washing vehicles and watering lawns is recommended.
If you must water shrubs and plants, do so in the evening or night, said Town Manager Christine Sanders. Water conservation can positively affect the reliability of our water supply during this drought and possibly prevent further restrictions.
Recommendations that can help conserve water:
Check for and repair leaky faucets, toilets and hose connections.
Install water-saving showerheads and faucet aerators.
Take short showers, less than 5 minutes, rather than baths.
Turn off faucets while shaving, brushing your teeth and washing dishes.
Wait until you have a full load to turn on the dishwasher or do laundry ... subscribe to the Davie County Enterprise Record, P.O. Box 99, Mocksville, N.C. 27028.
