Rec Department Eyes Interest In Skate Park
-
Does Davie County need a skateboard park?
If the answer is yes, you need to be at the Mocksville/Davie Recreation Department between 10 a.m. and noon on Thursday, Aug. 16.
Not only will the American Ramp Co. bring a ramp and some of their products for sampling, the morning will be used as a barometer to judge use for a potential skate park.
Recreation Director Mike Garner said an area at Rich Park has been identified as a possible site for such a park, but it won’t be built if there isn’t enough interest.
Everyone under age 18 will need to have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. These waivers are available now at the rec department, or may be signed in person the morning of Aug. 16.
Bring your own board and helmet. A limited number of helmets will be available to borrow, and all riders must wear a helmet.
The demonstration will be in the parking lot at 644 N. Main St., Mocksville.
