Advance Man Dead After Rampage Through Stores By Jackie Seabolt - A Davie man with a history of mental illness is dead following a rampage through two local businesses last week. Davie Sheriff’s Capt. J.D. Hartman reported that Richard Allen Englert, 42, who lived in the Kinderton development in Hillsdale, was suffering from some mental issues and had stopped taking his medications properly. Calls were received from the Kinderton neighborhood that a subject was carrying a stick, swinging it, and talking loudly. A short time later calls were received from the Davie EMS outpost on Yadkin Valley Road and the parking lot of Lowe’s Foods on NC 801. Hartman said that Englert entered Lowe’s Foods and was acting strangely. Hartman said it was confirmed Englert was carrying a wooden table leg.
