The McDaniel Rule: Profane Email Provokes Response

Call it the Randy McDaniel Rule.
County officials were working on a policy for computer use - by employees and residents using a county computer - before the idea came from Richard Poindexter, chair of the county board of commissioners, at a meeting May 3.
Poindexter said he was shocked at an email sent by a resident via a county computer.
The county had actually made that computer available to McDaniel, who had requested to view all emails between county, school and the Mebane Charitable Foundation.
While McDaniel was viewing those emails, he found one from Larry Colbourne, president of the foundation, to Beth Dirks, county manager, in which Colbourne complained about Bill Foust. McDaniel, Foust and Jay Mintz are heading an effort to block COPS funding for the second Davie High School campus.
