By Beth Cassidy - Four of the county’s bridges are scheduled to be replaced, and construction has already begun on three of those. Construction on the fourth one, the Kathryn Crosby bridge on US 158, was supposed to begin this month, but has been delayed. Darin Waller, resident engineer for the NC Department of Transportation (DOT) said the contractor, English Construction, out of Lynchburg, Va., is collecting permits from regulatory agencies.
